A regulatory body under the control of the Indian government is the Reserve Bank of India. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) runs the national version of RBI Assistant. There are three stages to the selection process for RBI Assistants: the preliminary, main, and language proficiency tests.

Online applications are available to graduates of recognized universities. A three-step computer-based online exam is how the RBI Assistant exam is structured. RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2024 Age Limit 

The candidate who wishes to apply for the post of RBI Assistant must be between the ages of 20 and 28. Hence, any candidate who was born before December 2, 1991, or after December 1, 1999, is not eligible to apply for the exam.

There is an upper-age relaxation according to the categories of candidates. Some of the relaxation criteria are mentioned as per the categories:

  • SC/ST Category- The upper age limit for candidates belonging to the SC/ST category is 33 years. Candidates belonging to this category get relaxation for 5 years.
  • OBC- The upper age limit for candidates belonging to the OBC category is 31 years. Candidates belonging to this category get relaxation for 3 years.
  • PwD (Person with Disabilities)- The upper age limit for candidates belonging to the GEN/EWS category is 38 years. Candidates belonging to this category get relaxation for 10 years. The upper age limit for candidates belonging to the OBC category is 41 years. Candidates belonging to this category get relaxation for 13 years. The upper age limit for candidates belonging to the SC/ST category is 43 years. Candidates belonging to this category get 15 years of relaxation.
  • Widows/ Divorced women/ women judicially separated- The upper age limit for candidates belonging to this category is 38 years. Candidates belonging to this category get relaxation for 10 years.  The women who are judicially separated must not be re-married.
  • Domiciled in J&K from January 1st, 1980, to December 31st, 1989- The upper age limit for candidates belonging to this category is 33 years. Candidates belonging to this category get relaxation for 5 years.
  • Work experience in RBI- The upper age limit for candidates belonging to this category is 31 years. Candidates belonging to this category get relaxation for 3 years.

RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2024 Educational Qualification

The candidates must fulfill the mentioned educational qualifications to appear in the exam for the post of RBI Assistant.

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 50% marks in any discipline. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, passing marks are sufficient to qualify for the eligibility criteria.
  • In case a candidate is applying from a particular state or region, he/she should know how to read, write, and speak the regional language of that particular region.
  • A person in the Ex-servicemen category should either be a graduate of any government-recognized university or College. The candidate should have passed matriculation or examination of the Armed Forces and rendered 15 years of defense service.
  • The percentage of marks is determined by dividing the candidate’s cumulative grade point average (GPA) across all semesters by the subject’s maximum score. The fractional part of the percentage will be ignored by the authorities.

Above all other criteria, Nationality plays a major role in applying for the examination. The applicant must be an Indian national. It is utterly important that candidates submit all the proofs of being citizens of India. They can use Aadhar Cards, PAN Cards, etc. to prove their nationality.

RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2024 Scheme of Selection 

The preliminary, mains, and language proficiency tests are the three stages of selection for the position of RBI Assistant.

  • The preliminary exam for the RBI is divided into three sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude.
  • The RBI main examination is divided into five sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge, and Computer Knowledge.
  • After passing these two exams, the candidate is eligible to take the language proficiency test.
  • The candidate’s final selection is based on the results of the online examination, qualifying Language Proficiency Test, medical exam, and document verification.

There are no such limited attempts for the RBI Assistant 2024 Examination. If the candidate meets all the required eligibility criteria, he or she is allowed to appear for the exam. The candidate can appear until he/she exceeds the required age limit for the exam.
